Devotion: The Most Famous Bible Verse of All!
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
A few weeks ago was Confirmation Sunday at our church! A time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.
Each student picks a confirmation verse for them to hold close to their heart for their whole life. Today’s verse, chosen by Kyle Simms, is probably the most polar version of all…John 3:16.
If a bodyguard jumped in front of a bullet for the person he was protecting, people would think that was pretty heroic.
If a friend jumped in front of a bullet for another friend, people would think that was even more of a sacrifice.
How about if an enemy jumped in front of a bullet for their enemy? Now, that would be incredible.
Let’s look at John 3:16 together and discuss these scenarios even more and how we can find so much peace and hope in the sacrifice God made for us!

Sermon: 7.2.23- Say No With a Higher Yes!
Sunday Jul 02, 2023
Sunday Jul 02, 2023
Say NO with a Higher YES!
Scriptures to read along with this message....
Exodus 32:15-29 Say NO with a Higher YES! Moses said NO to joining his brother, and all Israel, in materialistic debauchery. Instead, he confronted them, speaking God's truth with tough love.
1 Timothy 6:11-16 (sermon verses) Say NO with a Higher YES! The Christian says NO to the love of money, and YES to righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.
Matthew 10:34-42 Say NO with a Higher YES! Do not let anyone or anything get in between you and your Savior. Take up your cross, and follow Jesus!
Psalm 27 - About this psalm, Martin Luther said, "Psalm 27 is a psalm of thanksgiving, even though you might not see it at first. It is meant to comfort you when you encounter false teachers who blaspheme without being shy about it. Only believers testify about the promises of God with appropriate certainty and freshness. The more good and unlearned people are, the more beautifully foolish and fresh they are to teach and preach to the entire world."

Devotion: The Lord Watches Over You!
Wednesday Jun 28, 2023
Wednesday Jun 28, 2023
What do you think when you hear the words, “watching over you”?
If there’s a stranger or an enemy watching over you then it would be pretty terrifying.
If your thinking of parents watching over their baby in a crib, or a nurse watching a patient in the ICU then it’s comforting and brings so much peace.
When you know Jesus as your savior, the incredible perk that you have is that God is watching over you! It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing…He is ALWAYS there! What comfort that brings!
A couple weeks ago was Confirmation Sunday at our church! A time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.

Wednesday Jun 21, 2023
A couple weeks ago was Confirmation Sunday at our church. A time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.
Each student picks a confirmation verse for them to hold close to their heart for their whole life. Today’s verse, chosen by Dakota, is Philippians 4:13.
If you’re a fan of sports you might have seen athletes with the verse Philippians 4:13 on their eyeblack or written on their cleats. You might have even seen it tattooed on their arms.
Philippians 4:13 is a popular verse but can often be misunderstood. Does it mean we’ll always win and be able to accomplish whatever we set our minds to? No! Join us for today’s devotion as we get a better understanding of what this passage means.

Devotion: The Victor’s Crown!
Wednesday Jun 14, 2023
Wednesday Jun 14, 2023
Which would you rather have...money and pleasure, or peace and endurance?
I think the human effort across centuries is that we all want more money and pleasure. We believe that if we have it we'd have more peace and endurance.
Unfortunately, the opposite is actually true. The bible teaches in many places that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
Over the last few weeks we've been sharing the confirmation verses our students chose to hold close to their heart for their whole life. This weeks verse is chosen by William Miller, Revelation 2:10b.

Devotion: The LORD is My Light!
Wednesday Jun 07, 2023
Wednesday Jun 07, 2023
This Sunday was Confirmation Sunday at our church! A time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.
Each student picks a confirmation verse for them to hold close to their heart for their whole life. Today’s verse, chosen by Lily Hajenga, is Psalm 27:1.
This verse shows us that when we have God’s word, we have God’s light! Imagine being in a dark house without any light to help you navigate threw it, or driving down a rural road without a flashlight or headlights. When you turn on a light a sense of relief passes through you and you can manage much better. A little light goes a long way!
The darker the darkness, the brighter the light shines!
