Sermon: 6.4.23- Surely, I Am With You Always!
Sunday Jun 04, 2023
Sunday Jun 04, 2023
Have you ever thought of something you need so you walk into the next room to go get it and then think, “What did I come in here to get?”.
Sometimes you have to sit there a few seconds, other times you might have to retrace your steps to trigger your memory.
Do you ever see little kids doing that? They don’t think about what they’re supposed to do very much, they just act! They jump, they play and they don’t think much about all the details and what they’re “supposed” to be doing at that time. Jesus wants us to be more like the little kids!
Join us for today's Confirmation Sunday message to learn more! We hope you enjoy!

Devotion: God’s Love Follows Me Forever!
Wednesday May 31, 2023
Wednesday May 31, 2023
This Sunday is Confirmation Sunday at our church!
A time when young people from our congregation who have been studying the Word, stand up and confess their faith and prepare their hearts to take communion.
Each student picks a confirmation verse for them to hold close to their heart for their whole life. Today’s verse, chosen by Kailey Smith, is Psalm 23:6.
This verse shows us that when we look ahead… we see Jesus, our Good Shepherd, in all his glory! We see our own tension-free existence! We see the most peaceful, satisfying, full relationship with God and others around us! We see ourselves dwelling in the house of the Lord, forever!

Sermon: 5.28.23- The Harvest is Ready!
Tuesday May 30, 2023
Tuesday May 30, 2023
Have you noticed that Jesus loves to teach using agricultural terms and pictures?
In today's sermon we go through many examples when He does this and then dive deeper into Acts chapter 2 when He connects a very important Jewish harvest festival to the much more important harvest of the hearts of believers. A harvest that God has called YOU to work in.

Devotion: Thirsty? How About Some Living Water!
Wednesday May 24, 2023
Wednesday May 24, 2023
Summer is right around the corner!
In Houston that means you better be paying attention to how much water you’re drinking! It is VERY hot and humid here and in the summer you can hardly keep enough water in you because the sweat just pours out!
It’s one thing to have a thirsty body. What about if your thirsty body is in a land that doesn’t have much water to drink though? Land that is drought stricken and didn’t have running water. What a terrible place to be! The human body can’t survive very long without water.
As rough as that would be, what about a thirsty soul? What about a soul that’s begging for peace with God and coming up empty? Jesus addresses the thirsty soul in today’s devotion as we look at John 7.

Devotion: The Ascended Lord Jesus Blesses Us!
Wednesday May 17, 2023
Wednesday May 17, 2023
Tomorrow is Ascension Day! 40 days after Easter when Jesus lead his disciples out into the vicinity of Bethany and ascended into Heaven.
Just think about what that would have looked like if you were one of the disciples! They had gotten to know Him so well! They had heard Him say so many things and learned so much form Him. Sometimes they drank in what He said, and sometimes they didn’t.
This time, He left and disappeared into the sky. His saving work was finished but His ministry work was ongoing and He would still be with them and us always!

Devotion: Ongoing Easter- Never An Orphan!
Wednesday May 10, 2023
Wednesday May 10, 2023
How difficult life would be if one had to live their entire life as an orphan!
Alone. Helpless. Scared.
It must be so hard to be left to fend for yourself.
How difficult it would have been to be a disciple the night before Jesus died. They knew they were about to be alone and not sure where to go, or what to do next. Let’s hear what Jesus said to them to comfort them before they would see him dying on the cross.

Sermon:5.7.23- Jesus Builds His Spiritual House!
Sunday May 07, 2023
Sunday May 07, 2023
Jesus Builds His Spiritual House!
Scriptures to read along with this message....
Acts 4:8-12 Jesus Builds His Spiritual House! After Pentecost Day, Peter preached about Jesus, the stone they, the builders, had rejected. Yet it wasn’t too late to repent!
I Peter 2:4-10 (sermon verses) Jesus Builds His Spiritual House! Christ transforms us from common to royal, from sinful to holy, from useless to living stones offering acceptable sacrifices to him!
John 14:1-11 Jesus Builds His Spiritual House! We serve our Savior, with untroubled hearts, as we focus on his Father’s house. He’s preparing a place! He will come back! He will take us home!
Psalm 118 - Martin Luther said, “Psalm 118 is my favorite. It is a psalm of thanks, and it prophesies about Christ, the rejected cornerstone. It also prophesies about Christians, who thank God daily and unceasingly for all his kindness and goodness.”

Sermon: 4.30.23- Our Good Shepherd Gives Endurance!
Sunday Apr 30, 2023
Sunday Apr 30, 2023
Jesus Lives to Be My Good Shepherd!
Scriptures to read along with this message....
Acts 2:42-47 This is a beautiful description of the early Christian church - Christians enjoying one another, devoted to the Word, and under the care of the Good Shepherd Jesus.
I Peter 2:19-25 (sermon verses) Sometimes life as a Christian means persecution and suffering. Yet, not even suffering and tragedy can remove us from the care of our Good Shepherd.
John 10:1-10 Christ alone is our Good Shepherd, there is no other! Christ alone is the gate for the sheep, there is no other! As sheep, we follow him exclusively.
Psalm 23 - Martin Luther said, "Psalm 23 is a psalm of thanks, in which a Christian praises and thanks God for teaching it and leading it in right ways. Christians recognize that they are sheep, and their true Shepherd Jesus comforts and protects them in every need through his holy Word. With that Word, the Good Shepherd grazes us in fresh grass and at cool waters, while the table, cup and oil are Old Testament references to divine worship."
