Genesis 15:1-6 God promised Abram the impossible! He'd have a son, and his descendants would number more than the stars. Without any visible evidence, by faith Abram took God at his Word.
Hebrews 11:1-3, 8-16 (sermon verses) By faith, we long for a better country. It's not an earthly one, but instead, what God has gifted us - eternal life in his heaven!
Luke 12:22-34 Jesus instructs his disciples not to worry about their earthly matters but instead, trust God to take care of them. Unlike earthly possessions, heaven never rots, spoils or decays!

When two spouses say, “I want what you want.” What a thriving marriage that will be!
But when two spouses want very different things and have different goals in mind… that is going to be a rough ride at best!
If it’s important in our earthly relationships to have two people wanting the same thing, how much more important is it to have an, “I want the same thing as you!” attitude in our relationship with God! YOUR will be done, God!!

The part of the Lord's Prayer we're going to be covering today is, "Your Kingdom Come".
That struggle of "Who's in control?", "Who's kingdom is winning today?", goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve when they decided to disobey God and eat the forbidden fruit.
They basically declared, "My kingdom come God, not yours!"
What about you?
Sex outside of marriage, being greedy with our money, or dishonoring authority...
Are you going to decide MY kingdom first, or God's kingdom??

Luke 11:1-13 (sermon verses) An unnamed disciples asked Jesus, "Lord, teach us to pray." Jesus taught them not only how to pray, but also how our gracious God responds.

Hallowed Be Your Name...
Why would Jesus include such a request when He was teaching us how to pray?
You see we actually love our own name more than God's name!
We'd love to think whatever we want to think and never have anyone tell us we're wrong!
We really don't like hallowing someone else name!

Genesis 18:1-14 Set Your Priorities Straight! Sarah had trouble believing she would have a child. Yet God's priority was focused on His promise of a descendant.
Colossians 1:1-14 Set your priorities straight. The apostle Paul's priorities were on prayer and thanksgiving. He prayed for the churches like the one in Colassae thanking God for them thanking God for rescuing them from darkness!
Luke 10:38-42 (sermon verses) Set your priorities straight! Martha's priorities were fear, anxiety, and worry and not focused on Christ while Mary was focused on Christ as her sole priority

Love is a word we use quite a lot...
"Oh, I LOVE this!"
"Oh, I just LOVE that!"
Sometimes we use the word a little too casually, don't you think?
