Sermon: 2.11.24- See The Light!
Sunday Feb 11, 2024
Sunday Feb 11, 2024
Worship Theme: See the Light!
Scriptures to read along with this message....
2 Kings 2:1-12a See the Light! Elisha saw Elijah taken to heaven in a chariot of fire. This glimpse of God's glory gave him courage as he began his difficult ministry as a prophet.
Psalm 2 Because Jesus is ruling over all things at all times, we have confidence in his victory over sin. Martin Luther said, “Psalm 2 is a prophecy of how Christ will suffer and become King and Lord of the entire world. This psalm promises that those who believe in Christ will be blessed. Through Christ, God has delivered us from sin, death and hell and brought us to eternal life! This is the blessing we pray for in the Second Petition of the Lord’s Prayer, that his kingdom come.”
2 Corinthians 4:3-7 (sermon verses) See the Light! By nature we are all blinded by a veil of sin. But Jesus' glory has ripped through the veil and brought us out of the darkness and into the light!
Mark 9:2-9 See the Light! Approximately one month before his crucifixion, Jesus' glory shined brightly as he transfigured himself. There was absolutely no doubt that he is, and always will be, true God!

Can you say today, “I have enough!”
Many Americans have more than enough…it’s just never enough.
We often believe that if we just made a little more money, we’d be happy! But that’s not the truth! The problem isn’t the level of income that we have coming in, or the amount of money that we have saved in the bank. Our hearts are the problem.
Listen to today’s devotion as we look at Ecclesiastes 5:10, and 5:19-20 to help us find joy and satisfaction in what we are given!

In today’s message we’ll hear a story to show how being content with what we have is such a blessing. How we can maximize our strengths and minimize our weaknesses as we enjoy what we have through it all.

Sermon: 1.28.24- Go Forth and Peach The Gospel!
Monday Jan 29, 2024
Monday Jan 29, 2024
Worship Theme: Go Forth and Preach the Gospel!
Scriptures to read along with this message....
Jonah 3:1-5, 10 (sermon verses) Go Forth and Preach the Gospel! The people of Nineveh didn't deserve God's mercy. Jonah didn't deserve the chance to share it with them. But God worked through the Word in the messenger's mouth.
Psalm 62 describes the absolute trustworthiness of God, which moves us to flee to him in faith and count on him in crisis. Martin Luther said, “Psalm 62 instructs us about false trust in human beings, and true trust in God. Human beings simply do not see that trust in powerful people is worthless, and they are surprised when everything around them collapses. In contrast, when I trust in God, my soul is satisfied.”
2 Corinthians 5:14-21 Go Forth and Preach the Gospel! It's the greatest transaction ever known: God made the one with no sin - Jesus - to be sin. In the end, he does not count people's sins against them.
Mark 1:14-20 Go Forth and Preach the Gospel! The first disciples left their nets for the adventure of fishing for people. He calls us to do the same! He's with us as we go!

Devotion: Is Work Meaningless, Or Meaningful?
Wednesday Jan 24, 2024
Wednesday Jan 24, 2024
Why do I have to do THAT? Isn’t it their mess to pick up?
I bet we’ve all asked that at some point…”I didn’t do it. Why do I have to take responsibility?”
In Ecclesiastes Soloman says, “Toil is meaningless, a chasing after the wind!”.
A quick google search revealed that 80% of Americans are not happy in their work right now. So, I think we get it when Soloman says that… “What’s the point?”.
Listen to today’s devotion to find joy in the gifts God has given you and satisfaction in your work for Him!

Sermon: 1.14.24- Sin, You're Dead to Me!
Sunday Jan 14, 2024
Sunday Jan 14, 2024
Worship Theme: Sin, You're DEAD to Me!
Scriptures to read along with this message....
Isaiah 49:1-6 Sin, You're DEAD to Me! This is one of the "Servant Songs" of Isaiah. It’s a direct prophecy of Jesus. Because of his word and work, we are honored in the eyes of the Lord!
Romans 6:1-11 (sermon verses ) Sin, You're DEAD to Me! God shows us what it means to be baptized. It means that we are not slaves to sin anymore. It means that we have new life in Christ Jesus.
Mark 1:4-11 Sin, You're DEAD to Me! Jesus’ baptism was the beginning of his public ministry. As his ministry began, the Father (voice from heaven) and the Spirit (dove) were well pleased!

Devotion: Wisdom- Meaningful or Meaningless?
Wednesday Jan 10, 2024
Wednesday Jan 10, 2024
You would think King Solomon ,who wrote the book of Ecclesiastes, would have the most meaningful life anyone could possibly have. He was a strong, wealthy, and smart King but yet he declares in the book… “MEANINGLESS! Everything is meaningless!”
I think we all feel that way sometimes!
Meaningful or Meaningless? Over the next few weeks we’ll be asking ourself that question as we go through different categories each week. Today we’ll be talking about wisdom…
